Editorial Guidelines

This page explains how PBX Daily chooses topics, researches and writes articles, and keeps them up to date.

Our mission

PBX Daily helps beginners and career changers understand the path into tech work: learning to code, building a portfolio, finding freelance clients, and getting paid by clients in other countries. We want every guide to be practical, accurate, and easy to read, without hype and without promises of fast results.

How we choose topics

We choose topics based on the questions readers have at each stage, from “what should I learn first?” to “how do I send an invoice to a client abroad?”. Before we write, we:

  • review the current first page of Google results for the topic, to see what readers already find and what is missing;
  • check our own archive, so we do not publish a new article that repeats one we already have;
  • plan which related guides on PBX Daily the new article should link to.

Research and sources

Facts, numbers, fees, and rules are checked against the official source on the day we write. Examples of sources we use:

  • government agencies, such as the IRS and the FTC, for tax forms and scam warnings;
  • official documentation and standards, such as MDN Web Docs, web.dev, and ISTQB, for technical topics;
  • the official pricing and help pages of platforms such as Upwork, Fiverr, Wise, and Payoneer.

When an article uses outside sources, it ends with a “Sources” section that links to them. We prefer primary sources, such as the company or agency that sets the rule, over secondhand summaries. Fees and rules change often, so an article reflects what the source said on the date we checked it.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools to help with research and drafting. They do not publish anything on their own. Every article is reviewed and approved before it is published, and its facts are checked against the sources described above. Claims we cannot confirm in a reliable source are left out.

Images

The infographics and illustrative photos on PBX Daily are generated with digital tools, including AI image tools. They are there to explain or illustrate a topic. They do not show real readers, clients, or results.

Independence and monetization

PBX Daily is free to read and may be supported by display ads served by Google AdSense. Ads do not influence our content. Advertisers do not choose our topics, review our articles, or decide what we say about any product or service. When we compare services, such as payment providers or freelance platforms, we describe their fees and limits as each company publishes them. If an article is ever sponsored, we will say so clearly in that article.

Updates and corrections

We update an article when:

  • a reader reports an error and we confirm it;
  • a fee, rule, or official guideline that the article describes changes.

To report a mistake, use our Contact page. Please include the link to the article, the part you think is wrong, and, if you can, a link to a source that shows the correct information. We review every report.
